You dont have to grind your ass off to 80, why is the average gamers mentality 'OMG I must get max level ASAP!!!'

These kind of games are actually enjoyable at all levels.

You can take 3 months getting to 80 and still enjoy it.

The more you play/grind the faster you level.

~1 month for no lifers to reach 80. 4 months for the sub 20 hours per week players.

It isn't. It's just nice to reach endgame content, and have your character completed in terms of build.

From what i've read, rogues lolstomp every other class at this low a level in PvP. The majority seems to be hoping for a balance at 80 (yes, max level).

No shit sherlock. That's how i went about LOTRO. I ask a question on how levelling is incorporated in AoC, and you jump down my throat? Fag.

I understand that. I was simply asking because levelling can be made to be the grind (diablo 2 style), or it might not be a big deal (GW style).

You get 5 free friend invites. I'll shoot one your way via PM when I get my box.

A lot of people are actually determined to reach maximum level as fast aspossible, they dont care much for the content untill the end game. It is nice to reach the endgame content yes, but it is also a good game experience to enjoy the lower levels too, which a lot of players dont do.

Also on PVP servers, some people want to level up asap and start ganking. I wont be playing on the PVP servers anymore after reading about the PVP beta, but people that like ganking will be doing.

1 free friend invite with the standard edition, 5 with the CE. I wanted to use my own friend key, but I dont think I can after using a pre order key and paying for early access

Will still see if it works though.

I know. I'm not one of those "average gamers", so there was no need to respond to me with:

As for me, i'll be rolling on a PvP server. I'm confident it won't turn into a gankfest.

Morrowind was my "kick in the stomach". But it was still a great game. I don't think I'll ever put any amount of hours into a game as much as Daggerfall, though.

I'm saying that I will upgrade, but to a point it's more affordable.

There's an exponential increase of expenses when covering new computer technology. Newly released and advanced hardware will be super expensive when it comes out, but technology that is precisely right behind it in terms of advancement has a greatly decreased price.

"Upgrading when everything is cheaper" is basically what I said.

I never said I hated it. In fact, I think I recall saying that I hope it does well, since there are very few MMO's becoming successful. I'm just not going to get as excited as a newborn pup about it. The performance issues are always a concern, not just for AoC, but for any game I look to purchase. Regarding what I've read and heard, from you and many *many* others, it doesn't sound entirely "groundbreaking".

If I had an awesome computer and a choice between AoC and WAR, I'd probably go to AoC. But I don't have an awesome computer, so I will go with WAR. AoC is pushing a lot of technical boundaries, and I've merely stated that that will turn away a few gamers, moreso than "bad" or "dated" graphics.

Leveling is like WoW if you're asking about the pace. You'll get to 80 just doing the quests without the need to stay and kill mobs in any area.

A month to get to max level playing 6-8hours a day.

Also, I dont consider myself to be a 'fanboy' of any game, but WAR is absolutely terrible. Everyone on the outside considers WAR to be a WoW+DAoC hybrid and thus the 'next big thing', but every single person in closed beta I know hates it with a passion.

It's mostly between AoC, Wrath of the Lich King and Aion in the near future.

WAR will be the next big thing. It as low spec requirements, and prob a small learning curve.

AoC spec req are too high if you want playable GFX(40fps+). Aion will prob have similar spec req.

I wouldn't rush the gun on Aion. It's still built on the same engine that GW is, many people over look that.

Edit: Thanks in advance for the invite Malice.

If it looks like GW, it'll fail. GW graphics are nothing to get excited about these days.

AoC actually has pretty low minimum spec requirements, but min specs = everything on low, with no eyecandy. Who wants to play like that?

It's the art direction of Aion that bothers me, I've seen little difference between it and L2.

And I thought Aion was built on the Cry engine?

@Below me: Ouch, dude.

Looks like no AoC for me. I've been told that it can't be played with an intel chipset.

You just realized that?!

I personally think anything less then a 7600 will struggle on anything besides 'low'.

enxa - sure.
